Project 2: World Record Problem March 1, 2010

Illustrate a world record of any fact, statistic, deed, or achievement, in any field or  subject area (that is school appropriate of course). Consider the natural world, outer space, bizarre and outrageous stunts, challenging exploits, great sports accomplishments, or occurrences that are utterly ridiculous or shocking.

Incorporate into your design some text that presents the record breaking statistic. Your illustration should convey the world record and the text will reinforce your image.

You can use any of the Adobe programs to create this project at school.

You might want to start with a little bit of research to find some different world records at the Guinness World Records Website.  Another site is the World Records Encyclopedia. You may not use images of the actual record holder to create your project, you will need to create the imagery.

Before you begin creating your project you will need to make several sketches or thumbnails of different ideas you have.  This will allow you to work out several design decisions before working on a final design.

Your design will be 8×10 or 8×12, if you would like your project printed it should be at least 250 pixels per inch.

The rubric for this project is available here.
